Information for Applicants

The organizing team will provide more information on the specific exhibition area and other details that will help the artist form his/her proposal. Any technical difficulties of the artwork must be previously organized and settled. Artists must keep in mind that they will arrive with their artwork.

Artists must be present for the setup and duration of the Festival and arrange the pickup of their work. During their stay, there will be plenty of personal time to explore the area and wider region. Artists should attend the events to the fullest.

Each artist installs their artwork within the exhibition area. Placement of the artist is determined by the organizers. Methods of display, framing, and presentation should be tested beforehand, regarding pieces that hang or are mounted within the space.

Performance artists intending to present performances alongside their body of artwork must inform the organizers, who will set an appropriate time and place for the presentation.

The Zig Zag Festival is not a commercial exhibition. If there is interest in an artwork, the artist has sole responsibility for handling. If the artist is represented by a gallery/art space, the agreement is protected and both parties remain bound to it. CHEAPART organization is in no way involved in sales and does not receive any form of sales commission, nor is it an intermediary for sales or other financial handling or transportation of artwork.

Selection Process

Evaluation of your application is based on the proposed artwork and its relation to the idea. If accepted, artists should not present work that does not correspond to the style and visual orientation of the work in the application.

No Participation Fee

The organizers have secured free participation in the festival. If accepted, participants must cover the cost of materials for their artwork and the transportation of the artwork to and from the location.
